Tuscan Cup Jacks
These are unique cup jacks that have a blade of about 7”, handle of about 5” and strap of about 4”. It’s basically the 7.5” standard but with a different blade and strap geometry. Here’s the story behind them:
I stumbled upon an old pair of jacks from a factory in Tuscany, likely used for making wine bottles and chandelier parts. The jacks, probably pre-war, were likely built for stemware.
What struck me most about these old Tuscan jacks was their strap profile—a three-bend trapezoidal shape that peaked with a small radius at the top. It not only wins style points for aesthetics, but feels right in the hand.
Of all the jacks in my shop, these old Tuscan ones are among the most reliable. They’ve earned a permanent place on my bench. I typically use them to set a jack line and start an opening for a cup, then switch to a pair of 7.5” Dinos to finish the job.
For my tribute to these tools, I’ve set out to combine the prominent features of both of the tuscans as well as a small pair of Dino jacks into one unique and versatile single pair of jacks that feel like something new. These are a cup/goblet hybrid.
Each pair is stamped with a logo, serial number, and the date of manufacture.
Blades a little over 7”, Handles about 4”, Straps about 3.5” H x 1.5 W”
These high quality and highly functional tools are hand made one at a time per order in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Each tool shows clean and visible signs of being made by hand and each is a unique object.
Tools are made per order and are selling fast, please allow some lead time for tools to be made and shipped.
